Alixandra Fazzina

My dearest and closest friend, Alix Fazzina, received the most prestigious award, the UNHCR's 2010 Nansen Refugee Award, for her work as a photo-journalist concentrating, at great personal risk, on untold stories about the displaced in Somalia and Pakistan. These are the stories the mainstream media do not touch.

We had the most amazing week together celebrating in Arles when the award was announced and where she signed a contract with Noor Agency and where she recieved the first copies of her book A Million Shillings for her first book signing. I'm still stunned by it all. I'm very proud of her even if she does dance like a loony! 'Love you babes' x
